Swiss supermarkets to remove glyphosate products

Two Swiss supermarkets, Coop and Migros, are to stop stocking all household and gardening products containing the herbicide, glyphosate. Coop has already taken the step in light of the UN WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer decision to classify the active ingredient as probably carcinogenic to humans. The retailer says that it has taken the step despite the Swiss federal office for agriculture, the FOAG, still considering glyphosate to be harmless for the population. Migros will follow Coop’s lead in 2016.
