NORDIC consumer goods giant, Orkla, enjoyed solid profit growth in the fourth quarter for 2010, thanks to improved markets and brand strength. The group saw operating profits jump 14% to NOK1.3 billion (USD225 million) in Q4 2010, compared with NOK1.2 billion in the year-ago period. Profits for the full year rose 30% to NOK3.9 billion. Looking ahead, chief executive Bjorn Wiggen said Orkla will continue to create long-term value by developing a portfolio of companies and investments.
