3rd slaughterhouses licensed to export to China boosts poultry sector in MS

The poultry sector in Mato Grosso do Sul has been given a significant boost with the licensing of another slaughterhouse to export to China. Frango Bello, in the municipality of Itaquiraí, was licensed on February 22 and becomes the third company to serve the Chinese market in the state.

China is the third-largest consumer of chicken from Mato Grosso do Sul, accounting for 15.58% of output last year. It is comes behind Saudi Arabia and Japan, which imported 24.34% and 24.28% of output last year, respectively. Frango Bello is studying what percentage of daily slaughter should be allocated to Asia. Currently it slaughters 90,000 birds a day.
