Distribution deal for Cargill
Cargill has signed a five-year animal feed proteins deal with United Pulse Trading (UPT), a subsidiary of Canada’s Alliance Grain Traders. The deal makes Cargill the exclusive seller of the company’s pulse protein ingredient products for the animal feed sector in North America. “Our agreement with Cargill is the first step towards realising the opportunities that our new pulse ingredient platform provides,” said Murad Al-Katib, Alliance Grain President and chief executive. “These ingredients provide added value to the pulses and staple foods products we are already producing and exporting around the globe,” he added. Animal feed proteins are not a core product for Alliance, which exports and processes pulse crops such as lentils and peas, making it a logical area for a marketing arrangement with Cargill.
