Ground beef and poultry products top CSPI's list of riskiest foods

Poultry contaminated with Salmonella and Clostridium perfringens and ground beef contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 are the foods most likely to lead to serious illness and hospitalizations, based on a review of 12 years' worth of outbreak data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and analyzed by the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
