WHAT IF THERE’S NO FARM BILL?
After some near misses in his attempts to secure a Farm Bill compromise, House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) sounded perplexed over what it may take to pass the bill, in a Nov. 22 interview with KFGO radio in North Dakota. “What people think needs to be in the bill in order for it to pass the Senate makes it very hard to pass the House. And what people think needs to be in it to pass the House makes it hard to pass in the Senate,” he said. “I haven’t hit the sweet spot yet [but] I’m not going to give up.”
