USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service and FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition will co-host a day-long meeting to discuss the findings of the draft Interagency Risk Assessment -- L. monocytogenes in Retail Delicatessens. The meeting, scheduled for May 22 from 8:45 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. at USDA’s South Building in Washington, D.C., will present information on the quantitative draft risk assessment which evaluates the public health impact of changes in deli practices and potential interventions to reduce or prevent Lm in ready-to-eat foods that are sliced, prepared or otherwise packaged in retail facilities.
