In a notice published in Thursday’s Federal Register ( ), USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced that it has deregulated a corn line, developed by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, which is genetically engineered to be resistant to certain lepidopteran and coleopteran pests and tolerant of the herbicide glyphosate. APHIS reports receiving 12 comments during a comment period ending April 29, including consolidated documents containing identical letters for a total of 573 comments.
