Arla Foods investment
Arla Foods is spending €20 million on a new lactose plant in Denmark as part of a strategy to boost production of its most profitable export products. It is part of a raft of investment plans for 2013 totalling Dkr2 billion (€268m), approved by its board. Almost 40% of the spending will go on expanding production facilities − with the new lactose plant next to Arla’s existing Denmark Protein facility, the largest single investment. Construction of the plant is scheduled to be completed by October 2014, with plant fully operational in 2016.
