NCBA restates its stance on zilpaterol crisis
The National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) acknowledged yesterday that Tyson Foods has a right to stop accepting cattle fed the growth-promoting feed additive Zilmax (zilpaterol) based on animal health considerations. But the industry group, which appears uncertain how it should deal with the situation, also says it supports Merck Animal Health's efforts to address concerns about the use of the controversial beta-agonist.
