CRN advises FDA on defining "chemically altered" trigger for NDIs

FDA should revise its draft new dietary ingredient (NDI) notification guidance to redefine the "chemically altered" trigger to focus on changes that would affect an ingredient's identity and safety, not just the manufacturing process, the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) suggests in a six-page letter sent Tuesday to the agency ( www.crnusa.org/pdfs/CRN-FDA-Comments050713.pdf).
