APHIS: Unauthorized Genetically Modified Wheat Isolated to One Oregon Farm
USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced July 29 that an investigation into the discovery of unauthorized genetically modified wheat indicates that the incident is isolated to one field of one farm in Oregon. APHIS said investigators have found no evidence that the wheat, which was engineered for resistance to the widely used herbicide glyphosate, entered commerce or is present in any other state where field tests of the wheat were previously authorized.
