Rep. Barton Drafting Bill to Repeal Ban on Crude Oil Exports

Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) said he is drafting legislation that would repeal the ban on crude oil exports. Barton, chairman of the Republican Study Commission's energy task force, said he would introduce the bill early next year and hearings on the issue would be held in the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Natural Resources Committee. “I think there is a good chance in the next Congress, especially if you have a Republican Senate, we can do it,” Barton said in an interview with Bloomberg BNA.
