Food suppliers, chefs, waiting staff “need to understand” new food law

The UK Restaurant Association has warned food businesses that the new EU regulations relating to 14 allergens that come into force from 13 December “will be challenging and cumbersome to implement”.  “Everyone from food suppliers, chefs, waiting staff and bartenders” will need to understand what food ingredients could cause allergies and to communicate that to customers, the association warned in a press release. The new EU regulations covering allergies poses “the greatest challenge for restaurants” that frequently change recipes or menu items.
