Rogers: House leaders Will Help Sell Spending Omnibus
“I think we need to get old business behind us and start off with a clean slate in January,” Rogers told CQ Roll Call in an interview. He met Wednesday afternoon with Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California and won his support for moving the measure before adjournment. Leaders will likely make the same pitch at today’s House GOP caucus meeting. Rogers believes completing the spending bill will be the first step in proving to the public that the new Republican majority in Congress can break the gridlock that’s afflicted Washington for much of the last four years.
