Agriculture Offers, and Trade Policy Disciplines Keys to Progress Re: TPP: USTR Froman

Agricultural market access offers and legal disciplines, including those in areas that are new to trade agreements, are keys to making progress at the Feb. 22-25 meeting of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade ministers, US Trade Representative Michael Froman said prior to leaving for the Singapore meeting. In Feb. 20 remarks to USDA's Ag Outlook Forum, Froman said that agriculture access remains one of the critical outstanding areas for the negotiations involving 12 Pacific Rim countries. At the Center for American Progress Feb. 18 he cited Japan and Canada in connection with this topic.
