Small Business Administration Office Opposes WOTUS Proposal

The Small Business Administration's (SBA) Office of Advocacy called on the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers to withdraw a proposed Clean Water Act rule to define the jurisdictional waters of the US (WOTUS) over what it calls direct and potentially costly impacts to small businesses. In a letter (link) to those agencies, the SBA’s Office of Advocacy said they improperly analyzed the rule’s impact on agriculture, utilities and other sectors. Contrary to the language in the proposed rule, it would have “direct, significant impacts” on small businesses, the nine-page letter noted.
