Froman Urges New Japan TPP Offer Ahead of Ministers' Meeting in Sydney

The Obama administration wants Tokyo to translate Japan's economic reforms into negotiating positions in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) talks, US Trade Representative Michael Froman said Oct. 2. Froman spoke at the Made for Trade conference, hosted by the banking and financial services firm HSBC, amid a schedule of bilateral meetings with officials from some of the other 11 Pacific Rim countries in the TPP talks and the announcement by Australia that it will host a meeting of TPP ministers Oct. 25-27 in Sydney.
