White House to note Farm Data in Addressing Climate Change
The White House today announced new steps to build its case for addressing climate change. Included will be release of climate data focusing on food security and agricultural resilience, said John Podesta, an adviser to President Barack Obama on energy and climate issues. That data is to accompany commitments from corporations to develop tools to help agribusiness deal with changing weather patterns. Podesta’s comments came during a conference call on Monday. The White House in March announced a project, called the Climate Data Initiative, to gather government climate data on one website – link.
