Smartphones could resolve America's GM label stand-off

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has reiterated his view that smart phones could help solve the controversy over labelling of genetically modified foods, Food Chemical News reports. Revisiting an idea he has already mentioned several times in the past year, Vilsack suggested the food industry could provide information on GM ingredients within product barcodes for consumers to read with their mobile devices.
