Morrisons incurred “substantial” costs to comply with new EU labelling rules

UK supermarket chain Morrisons has told a London conference how the company has incurred substantial costs in order to bring its 7,000 own-brand products into compliance with the new EU laws on food labelling. The Westminster Food and Nutrition Forum, held on July 9th, focused on UK progress with the EU’s Food Information to Consumers (FIC) Regulation (1169/2001). The legislation, which came into force at the end of 2014, can be found on our Eurofood Monitor site here.
