House subcommittee passes USDA-FDA spending bill with menu labeling delay

Food retailers and restaurants would get at least one more year to implement FDA’s menu labeling rule and brewers’ spent grains would be exempt from the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), according to policy riders on the USDA-FDA spending bill for fiscal 2016, which passed the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture on Thursday (June 18).
