New Polish government to soften ban on junk food in schools

Three months after Poland’s previous government decided to amend the country’s law on food and alimentation safety in a bid to ban the sale of junk foods, such as chocolate bars, sweets, snacks, and energy and soft drinks, in Polish schools, the incumbent cabinet has unveiled plans to soften the ban and allow the sale of certain products. These are to include the traditional Polish sweet pastry known as drozdzowka which is popular among children.
