Illinois Corn Growers Assn. Pushing Boost in Ethanol Blend in Gasoline
The Illinois Corn Growers Assn. is pushing the Illinois General Assembly to approve increasing the ethanol blend in gasoline to 15% from 10%. The Chicago City Council this summer is expected to vote on allowing an additional pump at service stations to dispense the 15% blend of ethanol. The Illinois Renewable Fuels Association has joined the corn grower group in lobbying the state’s legislature in Springfield to do the same.
