U.S. cereals higher in sugar and sodium than in some other countries, survey finds

A new survey of global breakfast cereal brands by the U.K.-based World Action on Salt and Health (WASH) shows “wide differences in the levels of sodium and sugar found in the same cereals around the world,” and finds that all American cereals were higher in sodium than the same cereals sold in other countries, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) announced Tuesday (Nov. 29).
