Opinion: food labelling has become “excuse for nationalism” that threatens the EU

How food is labelled has become an excuse to ‘nationalise’ policies, as well as a tool to advance towards a ‘re-nationalisation’ of the Single Market, argues Spanish MEP Ramón Luis Valcárcel Siso, the European Parliament’s vice-president and member of the centre right European People’s Party (EPP). Here, he argues that labelling is going in the wrong direction and needs to get back on track for the good of Europe.
