NCBA pushes back over suit seeking 'confidential' information through FOIA

The plaintiffs in a lawsuit against USDA’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) – which seeks the release of documents related to two OIG audits of the beef checkoff program and its contractors – argue in a Monday (Sept. 19) filing the government has failed to explain why it has not produced many of the requested documents. But contractors involved in the case, including the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), strongly object to the release of some of the documents, arguing they contain confidential business information.
