US: Potassium chloride should also be “potassium salt” to avoid chlorine association

A petition has been submitted to US regulator, the FDA, asking that it issue guidance, rather than a regulation, recognising “potassium salt” as an additional name for potassium chloride. The petitioner, NuTek Food Science, says the term potassium chloride is often “misassociated with chlorine or other chemicals”.
