US study links prenatal exposure to BPA with anxiety/depression in boys

Boys exposed prenatally to bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical used in food packaging, may be more likely to develop symptoms of anxiety and depression at age 10-12, a new US study concludes. The study comes as the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is set to issue a scientific statement this September on the safety of the controversial chemical, found in food containers, plastic water bottles, receipt paper and dental sealants.
