Federal judge orders NOAA to ratify contested seafood traceability rule

A federal judge has ruled the government must ratify by June 30 a final rule that established a contested traceability program for certain types of imported seafood. The latest ruling leaves the seafood traceability rule in place that creates a new tracing system for seafood identified as vulnerable to illegal fishing, with compliance set to start on Jan. 1.
