National Chicken Council petitions USDA to increase line speeds in poultry slaughter plants

Amid objections from at least one consumer advocacy group, the National Chicken Council (NCC) has petitioned USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) to lift caps on line speed in poultry slaughter facilities under the New Poultry Inspection System (NPIS) and the Salmonella Initiative Program (SIP).
