ECJ ruling against Italian GM crop ban welcomed by US farmers

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has ruled that EU member states have no right to ban GM crops when there is no scientific reason for doing so. The 13th September ruling, which stems from a dispute between the Italian government and an Italian pro-GM farmer, has been welcomed by the American Soybean Association as a strike against the precautionary principle.
