Irish authority issues new guidance on food donations

Ireland’s food authority has issued new guidance for companies seeking to donate food, in light of growing awareness about food waste and food poverty. According to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), one in eight people currently living in Ireland is experiencing food poverty, increasing the need for more donations. At the same time, food waste created by Irish businesses amounts to around 750,000 tonnes per year.
