Misshapen strawberries, unharvested lettuces add to “unnecessary” UK food waste

An environmental NGO has brought together producers, hospitality businesses and retailers in the UK to tackle food waste at the primary production level. WRAP, a charity that works with government and the private sector on food waste reduction, most recently found that strawberries were being wasted because they were misshapen and lettuce was left unharvested because of inaccurate weather forecasting.
