Meat industry hails USDA move to scrap controversial GIPSA rules

In a decision being hailed by meat and poultry packers and processors, the Trump administration on Tuesday (Oct. 17) announced that USDA’s Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) would withdraw an interim final rule that deals with unlawful practices in the meat and poultry industry and take no further action on a related proposed rule.
