Food & Water Watch petitions USDA to revoke equivalency of Brazil’s meat inspection system

Citing deficiencies in the health and safety standards of Brazilian meat imports that span over 15 years, a petition filed Wednesday (Dec. 6) by Food & Water Watch (F&WW) calls on USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) to revoke the equivalency status of Brazil as being eligible to export meat products to the United States.
