FDA official provides overview of latest trends in food safety enforcement

FDA stayed busy in 2017, as the agency began enforcement of the Food Safety Modernization Act’s (FSMA) new Produce Rule (PR) and Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), moved on into the second year of Preventive Controls (PC) inspections, and continued its ongoing efforts to improve recall efficiency, a top agency official said on Tuesday (Dec. 6).
