FDA releases draft guidance on animal food preventive controls

FDA on Monday (Jan. 22) released the first five chapters of a draft guidance that aims to help animal food producers comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act’s (FSMA) Preventive Controls for Animal Food Rule in developing plans to minimize or prevent hazards that could cause illness in people or animals. But the guide's appendix that lists potential hazards is already causing concern for an animal feed group.
