Macron and Macri discuss 'red lines' for EU-Mercosur talks

French President Emmanuel Macron gave mixed messages on EU-Mercosur talks ahead of a meeting today (January 26) with his Argentine counterpart Mauricio Macri. While sympathising with the concerns of European beef farmers, he suggested they should not dismiss a deal out of hand, saying it “could be good so long as certain red lines are not crossed”.
