FSIS denies petition to waive line speed limits at chicken plants

USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has denied the National Chicken Council’s (NCC) petition to waive line speed limits for chicken plants operating under the New Poultry Inspection System (NPIS), but says more plants may be allowed to operate at line speeds up to 175 birds per minutes (bpm) in the future.
