Global trade growth expectations rise, but escalating tensions presents peril: WTO report

World merchandise trade growth is forecast to remain robust in 2018 and 2019 after seeing the fastest growth in six-years during 2017. However, escalating trade tensions could dampen those expectations, the World Trade Organization (WTO) observed with the release of its latest trade estimates April 12.
