EFSA sets five-year limit on carrageenan ADI while missing data produced

In an unusual step the European Food Safety Authority has given a five-year limit on continued use of the current acceptable daily intake (ADI) for the thickening agents carrageenan (E 407) and processed Eucheuma seaweed (E 407a) of 75 milligrams per kilogram of bodyweight (mg/kg bw) per day, while additional data is generated.
