US to hit Mexico, Canada and EU with import duties on steel, aluminum, responses at WTO promised

Mexico, Canada and the European Union (EU) will face duties of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum they export to the US, effective midnight tonight, according to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross. The actions are being taken under Section 232 of US trade law which uses national security interests to impose tariffs.
