Advocates for boosting FDA’s budget in FY 2019 favor the higher price tag in the House appropriations bill, but prefer some provisions in the Senate bill, including the $15 million increase proposed for food safety. The House committee-passed bill, however, provides no extra dollars to helps states ramp up the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
