A committee within the House of Lords has pressed the government on its plans to assess food safety after Brexit when the UK is no longer a member of the EU’s Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed. Outside of the EU committee, the UK will no longer automatically follow the risk management decisions made by the EU on food safety, the Lords point out.
