Day ahead – July 27, 2018: Still no Senate farm bill conferees, Lighthizer says no non-ag trade aid plans, is optimistic on NAFTA talks

The Senate left town for the weekend without naming farm bill conferees and voting on moving to conference with the House on the farm bill. Meanwhile US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said there are no current plans to provide trade aid to non-ag sectors, and he expressed optimism a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA 2.0) deal can be struck with Canada and Mexico.
