NPIS plants more likely to fail FSIS Salmonella standards, advocates find

A significant number of chicken slaughter plants that are operating under the New Poultry Inspection System (NPIS), which allows plants to operate with fewer government inspectors, continue to show a greater likelihood of failing the government’s performance standard for Salmonella than plants still using the traditional inspection model, advocacy group Food & Water Watch (F&WW) has found.
