Luxembourg did not give illegal tax sweetener deal to McDonald’s, Commission rules

After nearly three years of investigation, the European Commission has ruled that Luxembourg did not breach EU state aid rules in giving McDonald’s tax breaks on some profits, since it did not give the company a selective advantage over competitors and the sweetener deal was in line with both national law and a double taxation treaty with the US.
