The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has slashed the current tolerable weekly intake (TWI) for dioxins and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) seven-fold in a new opinion reviewing the limit set by its predecessor the Scientific Committee for Food (SCF) in 2001.
