EU waves through Czech request on additives for denatured alcohol

Completely denatured alcohol is exempt from excise duties under EU legislation.

The European Commission has added to the list of approved additives which can be used in denatured alcohol, which allows the final product containing the additives to be sold free of excise duty. It follows a request from the Czech Republic.
